Change Password in Business Contact Manager

When you are granted access to a remote Business Contact Manager database, you must use a password to log on. If the database is on a computer that is part of a domain, you can use your network password. If the computer is not part of a domain, the database owner or the computer administrator should give you a password.

The first time you connect to the shared Business Contact Manager database, you are prompted to enter the remote password that the database owner created for you. You must change the remote password to match your local password.

Note: You do not need to give your local password to the database owner.

  1. In the Temporary or remote password box, type the password database owner or computer administrator gave to you. The password cannot be blank.

  2. In the Local password box, type the password you use to log on to your local computer.

  3. In the Confirm local password box, retype the password that you use to log on to your local computer.

  4. Click OK.

Your remote password is changed to match the password you use to log on to your computer. The next time you connect to the shared database, you are not prompted to supply a password unless the remote password and your local passwords do not match.

Note:  If the message, Cannot change your password on computercomputername is displayed, you have mistyped your password. Computername is the name of the computer where the Business Contact Manager database is located.
