Change curly quotes to straight quotes and vice versa

Office 365 订阅, Office Online, Office 2019, Office 2016, Office 2013, Office 2010

As you type text, some Microsoft Office programs automatically change straight quotation marks ( ' or " ) to curly quotation marks (also known as "smart quotes" or typographer's quotes). You can turn on or off this feature.

Which Office program are you using? Select one from the drop-down list.

  1. On the File tab, click Options.

  2. In the Outlook Options dialog box, click Mail tab, and then click Editor Options.

  3. In the Editor Options dialog box, click AutoCorrect Options.

  4. In the AutoCorrect dialog box, do the following:

    • Click the AutoFormat As You Type tab, and under Replace as you type, select or clear the "Straight quotes" with “smart quotes” check box.

    • Click the AutoFormat tab, and under Replace, select or clear the "Straight quotes" with “smart quotes” check box.

  5. Click OK.

  1. On the File tab, click Options.

  2. Click Proofing, and then click AutoCorrect Options.

  3. In the AutoCorrect dialog box, click the AutoFormat As You Type tab.

  4. Under Replace as you type, select or clear the "Straight quotes" with “smart quotes” check box.

  5. Click OK.

  1. On the File tab, click Options.

  2. Click Proofing, and then click AutoCorrect Options.

  3. In the AutoCorrect dialog box, click the AutoFormat As You Type tab.

  4. Under Replace as you type, select or clear the "Straight quotes" with “smart quotes” check box.

  5. Click OK.

  1. On the File tab, click Options.

  2. Click Proofing, and then click AutoCorrect Options.

  3. In the AutoCorrect dialog box, do the following:

    • Click the AutoFormat As You Type tab, and under Replace as you type, select or clear the "Straight quotes" with “smart quotes” check box.

    • Click the AutoFormat tab, and under Replace, select or clear the "Straight quotes" with “smart quotes” check box.

  4. Click OK.

  2. Click Proofing, and then click AutoCorrect Options.

  3. In the AutoCorrect dialog box, click the AutoFormat As You Type tab.

  4. Under Replace as you type, select or clear the "Straight quotes" with “smart quotes” check box.

  5. Click OK.

  1. On the Tools menu, click AutoCorrect Options.

  2. In the AutoCorrect dialog box, click the AutoFormat As You Type tab.

  3. Under Replace as you type, select or clear the "Straight quotes" with “smart quotes” check box.

  4. Click OK.

  1. Click the Microsoft Office Button Office button image , and then click Word Options.

  2. Click Proofing, and then click AutoCorrect Options.

  3. In the AutoCorrect dialog box, do the following:

    • Click the AutoFormat As You Type tab, and under Replace as you type, select or clear the "Straight quotes" with “smart quotes” check box.

    • Click the AutoFormat tab, and under Replace, select or clear the "Straight quotes" with “smart quotes” check box.

  4. Click OK.
