Video: Add a report to the Report Center in an Access Web Database template

Most of the Access 2010 Web Database templates include a tab named Report Center, where you can preview and print the reports that were included in the template. If you create a new report, you can add it to the Report Center tab by following the instructions in this video.

Note:  Depending on the complexity of your report, some additional steps may be required to add it to the Report Center. This procedure will work for most situations, where the goal is to display and print a simple report.

  1. Click the Report Center tab.

  2. On the Home tab, in the Views group, click View, and then click Layout View.

  3. If the Property Sheet is not already displayed, press F4 to display it.

Note:  You might need to “undock” the Property Sheet from the right side of the Access window so that you can see the Select a Report buttons. Place the pointer at the top of the Property Sheet, and then drag it to the left until the report buttons are visible.

  1. On the Design tab, in the Controls group, click Button, and then click in the first empty cell below the existing report selector buttons.

  2. Select the text in the new button, and type the text that you want displayed.

  3. Click one of the existing buttons, and then click the Event tab in the Property Sheet.

  4. In the OnClick event box, click the Build button.

  5. On the Design tab, in the Collapse/Expand group, click Expand All to display the full macro.

  6. Select all of the actions by pressing CTRL+A, and then copy them by pressing CTRL+C.

  7. Close the Macro Builder, without saving changes.

  8. Select the new button, and then in the OnClick event property box, click the Build button.

  9. Paste in the macro actions by pressing CTRL+V.

  10. Edit the action arguments to that they include the name of your new report instead of the existing report.

  11. On the Design tab, click Save, and then click Close.

  12. On the Home tab, in the Views group, click View, and then click Form View.

    The new button should be ready to use.
