Quick Assist
With Windows Quick Assist app, you can receive or provide PC assistance over a remote connection. Remember only to share Quick Assist with trusted people since they can access your PC.
Important: An update is required to continue using Quick Assist. For updated information and FAQs please visit the article Install Quick Assist.
Select Start > Microsoft Store > Search Quick Assist > select Get.
If you are currently running version 2.0.6.0 or higher you will no longer see two icons. If you are seeing two icons, you'll need to manually remove any shortcuts you have previously pinned which launch the old app, and replace them with shortcuts to the new app.
To check the version you are running, search your device for Quick Assist > select App settings (or right-click on the new Quick Assist Icon and select App settings).
Confirm the version = 2.0.6.0. or higher
Note: If you are on a work or school device you may be restricted by corporate policy from installing or accessing the Quick Assist update in the Store. For more information contact your support person or admin.
The Quick Assist icon has a new look. The side-by-side image above shows the old and new icons. Be sure to select the updated icon.
To open Quick Assist, please follow these instructions:
Open Quick Assist on your device

Option One - In Windows 10 or Windows 11, press Ctrl + Windows logo key + Q at the same time to open Quick Assist.

Option Two - Use the Start menu to open Quick Assist:

For Windows 11: Select Start > All apps > Windows Tools, then select Quick Assist.

For Windows 10: Select Start > Windows Accessories, then select Quick Assist.

Option Three - In Windows 10 or Windows 11, select the Search bar or Search icon, type quick assist, and select Quick Assist in the list of results.
After Quick Assist opens, enter the code provided to you by Microsoft.
Quick Assist web app
For those using Windows 8.1 or supported Windows Server or macOS versions, the Quick Assist web app will get you help with your computer directly from Microsoft support agents. The app connects your computer with the Microsoft support agent’s computer using a remote connection.
Here’s what to do if you’re working with a Microsoft support agent and they tell you to open the Quick Assist app:

Open the Quick Assist web app

The Microsoft support agent will give you a security code—enter it when prompted.

Follow any other onscreen instructions.
Important: The Quick Assist web app is only available for use with verified Microsoft support agents.
