Why are you removing Money in Excel from Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscriptions? 

We’ve learned a lot from Money in Excel and appreciate the many needs people have for their families and their money. We believe there are other areas where we can have a greater impact and will be focusing on those going forward.  

Will I still receive new transactions? 

No, once Money in Excel ends on June 30, 2023, you will no longer receive updates to your transactions or receive new transactions. 

Can I connect to a new financial account? 

No, once Money in Excel ends on June 30, 2023, you will no longer be able to connect to a new financial account or reconnect to an existing financial account. 

Can I keep a copy of my data? 

Yes, your data is yours to keep and is all contained within your Excel workbook. Please keep your workbook safe as you will not be able to restore your data after Money in Excel ends on June 30, 2023. 

Will Microsoft still have access to my data? 

After Money in Excel ends on June 30, 2023, Microsoft will no longer have access to your data. If your Money in Excel workbook is stored on your OneDrive it is safe, we will not remove any of your personal files. 

What is Tiller? 

Tiller is very much like Money in Excel. It connects your financial accounts to your workbooks and securely imports your daily transactions with customizable transaction categories. But as a company solely focused on personal finance spreadsheets, Tiller also includes key features to help you manage your money, your way. These include a daily email showing your account balances and cleared transactions, support for up to five automated workbooks, the Tiller Foundation Template, helpful US-based support, and a vibrant user community.

What steps will I have to take to transition to Tiller? 

After starting your free trial, Tiller’s Head of Customer Success will send you a welcome email with the next steps and an invitation to a live getting started webinar. Be sure to choose an account where you regularly check your email, so you don’t miss these details and getting started tips.

I bought a Microsoft 365 subscription to get additional value from Money in Excel. How do I cancel my subscription? 

If you do not wish to continue your Microsoft 365 subscription, visit this page for instructions. 

If you do wish to transition to Tiller, you may still require a Microsoft 365 subscription to use Tiller with Excel. 

If you purchased a Microsoft 365 subscription with recurring billing from a third-party retailer instead of the Microsoft Store, contact the third-party retailer directly to cancel your subscription.

How can I find where I purchased my Microsoft 365 subscription? 

  1. Go to your Services & subscriptions page.

  2. If prompted, choose Sign in and enter the Microsoft account email and password associated with your Microsoft 365 subscription.

  3. Click on the Manage button, if your subscription was purchased through Microsoft, you will see options to manage your subscription, otherwise you will be taken to the website of the third-party retailer where you purchased your subscription.
