If you experience issues where students have access to other students' private notebooks in Class Notebook, there may be issues with permissions. This can be due to changes in settings in Microsoft Teams.

If a student's role was changed from member to owner in Microsoft Teams, they gained administrative access to all Class Notebook sections. Changing the student's role back to member will remove their access to other notebooks and create a new private space for them. They will still have access to the Collaboration Space and Content Library.

Because Class Notebooks created in Microsoft Teams inherit permissions from the class team, we don't recommend changing the permissions of students in class teams.

Note: For IT guidance on transferring ownership of a Class Notebook, follow these instructions
