If you're having trouble connecting your Outlook.com Premium account to Outlook 2016 or Outlook 2013, go to Fixes or workarounds for recent issues on Outlook.com and select Unable to configure Custom Domains accounts to connect in Outlook as an Exchange account [WORKAROUND].
Note: If two-factor authentication for your Microsoft account is turned on, you'll need an App Password to set up Outlook.com Premium in Outlook 2016. Go to your Microsoft account Security page, select More security options > Create a new app password.
Outlook.com is an email service that provides free email for personal use. Outlook.com email addresses include addresses ending in @hotmail.com, @live.com, @msn.com, and @outlook.com. Outlook on the web is the web browser version of Microsoft Outlook that is used by businesses and organizations. Outlook on the web can only be used to access Office 365 for business and other email accounts that are hosted on a server running Microsoft Exchange Server.
