Set up the service

Choose your Microsoft subscription

Your browser does not support video. Install Microsoft Silverlight, Adobe Flash Player, or Internet Explorer 9.
  1. Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center, and select Go to setup. The setup wizard will start.

  2.  On the Install your Office apps page, you can choose to install Office apps on your computer, or select Continue.

  3.  On the Your domain is your business identity page, enter the domain name for your business and then select Use this domain. If you use a common registrar like WordPress or GoDaddy, your records will be added automatically on this page.

  4. On the Verify your domain page, select Verify to verify ownership of your domain, and then sign in to your domain registrar account. To let Microsoft add a TXT record for account verification, select Confirm.

  5. On the Add users and assign licenses page, enter user first names, last names, and user names. Then select Add users and assign licenses.

  6. On the Share sign-in information page, enter alternate email addresses for your users, and select Send email and continue.

  7.  On the Activate records page, click Continue.

  8.  On the Add DNS records page, we recommend that you leave the services turned on for email, Teams, and mobile device security. Select Configure, and then select Confirm to confirm the changes with your domain registrar.

  9.  On the Increase protection from advanced cyber threats page, leave Office Advanced Threat Protection on, review what will be scanned, and then select Create Advanced Threat Protectionpolicies.

  10.  On the Prevent leaks of sensitive data page, leave Data Loss Prevention on, review the options, and select Create data loss prevention policy.

  11. On the Protect data in Office for mobile page, leave mobile app management on, expand the settings and review them, and then select Create mobile app management policy.

Your setup is complete.

After signing up for Microsoft 365 Business, you’re ready to set things up, like adding a domain, users, and setting up security. 

Let’s get started.

From the Microsoft 365 admin center, select Go to setup.

If you like, you can install Office apps on your computer now. Or just select Continue.

Since we already have a domain and a website, we’ll enter it here. Then select Use this domain

If you use a common registrar like WordPress or GoDaddy, your records will be added automatically on this page. To verify ownership of your domain, select Verify, and sign in to your domain registrar account. To let Microsoft add a TXT record for account verification, select Confirm.

Add users by entering their first names, last names, and user names. Then select Add users and assign licenses.

Enter alternate email addresses for your users, and select Send email and continue.

To activate your new DNS records, select Continue.

We recommend you leave these services turned on for email, Teams, and mobile device security. Select Configure, and confirm the changes with your domain registrar.

Leave Office Advanced Threat Protection on, and review what will be scanned. Then select Create Advanced Threat Protection policies.

Leave Data Loss Prevention on, review the options, and select Create data loss prevention policy.

Leave mobile app management on, expand the settings to review them, and select Create mobile app management policy.

Your setup is complete. We’d appreciate your feedback on the setup process. If you’d like, you can adjust these settings and add more features by selecting Explore features.

Set up Office 365 Business  Premium 

  1. To set up Office 365 Business Premium, go to Office.com and sign in with your work account if prompted.

  2. Select Admin, and then select Go to setup.

  3. If you like, you can install Office apps on your computer now, or just select Continue.

  4. On the Your domain is your business identity page, enter your domain name, and then select Use this domain.

  5. On the Add users and assign licenses page, enter your users' information. If necessary, select Buy more licenses and purchase the additional licenses you need. Enter your email address so you can receive your users' passwords, and then select Add users and assign licenses.

  6. On the Share sign-in information page, enter alternate email addresses for your users so that they can receive their Office 365 credentials, select Send email, and then select Continue.

  7. The Activate records page appears. If you use a common domain registrar, such as Go Daddy or WordPress, your DNS records will be automatically activated for you. Select Continue.

  8. On the Add DNS records page, we recommend that you leave the Exchange Online, Skype for Business, and Intune services turned on for email, Teams, and mobile device management. Select Configure.

  9. You might be prompted to sign in to your domain registrar. Then select Allow.

Your setup is complete. We'd appreciate your feedback on the setup process.

If you'd like, you can adjust these settings and add more features by selecting Explore features.

To set up Office 365 Business Premium, go to Office.com, sign in with your work account if prompted, select Admin, then Go to setup.

If you like, you can install Office apps on your computer now, or just select Continue.

Enter your users' information. Purchase more licenses, if necessary. Enter your email address so you can receive your users' passwords, and select Add users and assign licenses.
