An email domain is the part of an email address appearing after the @ symbol. For example, if your email address is, then is your email domain.

Microsoft has partnered with several domain name registrars to provide personalized email domains. Personalized email domains are subject to availability and the domain name registrar’s terms. When you select a new personalized email domain (but not a custom email domain that you already own), Microsoft will register and purchase the domain on your behalf.

Note: If you cancel your Premium subscription, Microsoft retains ownership of the email domain for 60 days, after which ownership passes to the domain name registrar. The registrar has the right to sell the domain.

No, email domains must be unique. When you select an available domain, Microsoft registers your domain on your behalf and no one else can select it.

If you attempt to create a personalized email domain that someone else already owns, you will be informed that the domain is not available and prompted to create a different one.

No, you can't change your personalized email domain after it’s created. You will need to cancel your current Premium subscription, start a new subscription, and then select a new personalized email domain.

You can only have one personalized email domain per Premium account. Create a new Premium account and use your own domain during the setup process.
