  • Install your favorite add-ins and enhance your productivity within Outlook.

Sensitivity labeling

  • When composing an email, you will now be able to apply a sensitivity label and view the default label if configured by your administrator.

  • Sometimes a message bar asking if you wanted to recover files would appear even after you've chosen to recover the files.

  • The print dialog would display the first page of a workbook in Portrait orientation incorrectly.

  • Automatic Replies: Set automatic replies when you are out of the office or not able to reply. Configure replies for senders within your organization and senders outside your organization, and choose a time period for the replies. Access settings via Tools > Automatic Replies. When automatic replies are active, a banner will appear at the top of the main window

Make a big impact with Announcements


Insert Data From Picture - You can now insert data into Excel from your clipboard, your iPhone with Continuity Camera, or from a file on your computer.  Excel will convert the image to a table and insert it into your sheet.

To get started, there are 3 options:

Option 1

Go to Insert > Data From Picture > Picture From File

Option 2

Copy an image of a table to your clipboard, and
then go to Insert > Data From Picture > Picture From Clipboard

Option 3

Right-click a cell, and then click Scan Documents
(requires an iPhone configured to use Continuity Camera)

  • Printing options have been updated. A change has been made to the Print dialog to allow sheets with different orientation to be printed at one time. Previously, orientation and paper size settings for individual worksheets would be overridden by the settings in the Print dialog.  This meant that if you had 1 sheet to print in Portrait, and another in Landscape, you had to print them separately, or they would both print in the same orientation.  The settings were removed from the print dialog and now should be set on the Page Layout tab of the ribbon for each specific worksheet.

Bug fixes

  • Text in images was becoming blurrier than expected when resizing the image.

  • Emojis in some fonts were not appearing correctly.

  • The filter dialog would sometimes be positioned at the top of the window and could be slightly covered by the Apple menu bar.

  • When using ScreenUpdating=False in a macro, it sometimes behaved differently the first time a macro was run compared to subsequent runs.

  • Excel could hang if it was launched by a macro in Word or PowerPoint.

  • Holding the SHIFT key while opening a workbook did not prevent automatic macros from running.

  • Fixed some crashes and other minor issues.

Getting Started

  • Fixed an issue where sometimes the threaded comments were not available, and Stocks and Geography data types were not available.

  • Using ActiveSheet.ExportAsFixedFormat in a VBA macro was not working.

  • The keyboard shortcut SHIFT+OPT+F10 can be used to open the field list for a cell containing a stock or geography data type.

  • Fixed some crashes and minor bugs.

  • You can now opt out of Dark Mode. To do so, go to Excel > Preferences > General, and enable the option "Don't allow Appearance to change in Dark Mode" (only available if your computer has MacOS 10.14).

  • In Preferences, the options were not being highlighted when using the search feature.

  • Undo was not working for column width changes.

  • Trace precedent arrows were not being removed when saving the file.

  • Improved the responsiveness of typing when editing a formula.
