Need help signing in on an iPhone or iPad?

How do I sign in to the Skype for Business app?

You need a sign-in address and password from an organization that has a Skype for Business or Lync license. If you’re already using Skype for Business on your desktop, then you can sign in with the credentials from your work or school account. 

How do I reset my password?

To change your password, see Change your Skype for Business password on your mobile device.

Users If you forgot your user name and password, or it doesn’t work anymore, contact your workplace technical support—typically the person who set up your Skype for Business or Lync account for you.

What’s the format of my sign-in address and user name?

Your sign-in address looks like this: user@domain.com.

You might be asked for both a user name and a sign-in address. The user name is what you use to sign in to your organization’s network, either user@domain.com or domain\username.

Do I need to enter proxy settings?

If you’re behind an authenticated proxy, you’ll need to provide proxy authentication information, as follows.

  1. Tap your picture to bring up your profile page.

  2. Tap Settings () > HTTP Proxy.

  3. Enter your Domain, User Name, and Password.

  4. Click Done.

I’m trying to sign in to Lync 2010 server but I have the Skype for Business app installed

Skype for Business does not work with Lync Server 2010. If you’ve installed the Skype for Business app on your mobile device but are trying to sign in to Lync Server 2010, uninstall the Skype for Business app and install the Lync 2010 app. To install the Lync 2010 app, do the following:

  1. From your iOS device, go to the App Store, and search for Lync 2010.

  2. Tap the Download (Download button from the Apple App Store) button in the app, and then tap Open. As soon as the app is installed, it appears on your home screen.

If you can't sign in automatically, your workplace technical support team may provide you with this information as a troubleshooting step.

I’m trying to sign in on Lync 2010 server but I have the Skype for Business app installed

If you’ve installed the Skype for Business app on your mobile device but are trying to sign in to the Lync 2010 Server, uninstall Skype for Business and install the Lync 2010 app. To install the Lync 2010 app, do the following:

  1. From your Windows Phone, go to the Store, and search for Microsoft Lync 2010.

  2. Tap the Install button. As soon as the app is installed, it appears on your phone.

How long do I stay signed in on Skype for Business app for Windows Phone?

Once you’re signed in you’ll remain signed in as long as there is connectivity. If you have connectivity but haven’t used the application for 10 days, you’ll be signed out.

Where can I find the Skype for Business app for Windows Phone?

Effective May 20, 2018, the Windows Phone app for Skype for Business will be retired and will no longer be available for download from the Windows Phone Store.
