You can lock a presentation in PowerPoint 2016 for Mac so that others can read it, but not change it.

Lock a presentation to make it read-only

Caution: If your presentation is shared, anyone who has Write privileges can clear the locked status. For stronger protection, require a password to save changes. (In your presentation, click File > Passwords.)

  1. Open the Finder and select the presentation you want to protect.

  2. Ctrl+click or right-click the presentation file, and then click Get Info.

  3. Under General, select the Locked check box.

Unlock a presentation

Note: You must be the owner of the file, or have Write privileges, to clear the locked status of a presentation.

  1. Open the Finder and select the presentation you want to protect.

  2. Ctrl+click or right-click the presentation file, and then click Get Info.

  3. Under General, clear the Locked check box.
