The bitmap picture has an effective resolution that is lower than 96 dots per inch (dpi). If it is not fixed, the picture will look distorted when the publication is printed on a high-resolution printer or imagesetter.

To find and select the item, click the error message in the Design Checker task pane, click the arrow, and then click Go to this Item.

Manual fix

To fix this problem manually, replace the low-resolution picture with a high-resolution copy of the picture or with a different high-resolution picture.

  1. Right-click the low-resolution picture in the publication, point to Change Picture, and then click From File.

  2. In the Insert Picture dialog box, locate the folder that contains the high-resolution picture that you want to insert, and then click the picture file.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • To embed the picture, click Insert.

    • To link the picture to the picture file on your hard disk, click the arrow next to Insert, and then click Link to File.
