Install or reinstall Office through Microsoft HUP

This topic is for customers who buy Office at a discounted price through their employer's Microsoft HUP benefit. All other customers should see Download and install or reinstall Office 365, Office 2016, or Office 2013 on your PC or Mac.

Get started with Microsoft HUP

If your organization subscribes to Microsoft HUP, you can buy Office at a discounted price and install it on a single computer.

Tip: The method of purchasing and installing Office through Microsoft HUP is unique to this program. You'll want to save any emails you receive from the program, or bookmark this page.

Here's what you'll need to get started:

  • Your work email address (you'll be able to send installation instructions to your personal email address during the purchase process)

  • Some organizations require a 10-digit program code provided by your benefit administrator

  • Your HUP product key is required to activate Office after you install it, either from the web or from purchased media

If you have questions about Microsoft HUP, see the HUP FAQ.

Buy and install through Microsoft HUP

If you didn't buy Office through your employer's Microsoft HUP benefit, see Download and install or reinstall Office 365, Office 2016, or Office 2013 on your PC or Mac. If you have problems with your purchase, see the HUP FAQ.

  1. On microsofthup.com, enter your work email address and select your country. If you're prompted for a program code, enter the program code that was provided by your benefit administrator.

  2. An email from Microsoft HUP will be sent to your work address. Open the email, and select the Confirm your account button.

  3. A web page appears that lists the Office products you can buy. You can choose Office Professional Plus for PC, Office Home and Business 2016 for Mac, or both. You might also have the option to buy Project Professional 2016 and Visio Professional 2016 (PC versions only).

  4. Select the Office products you want to buy, and then select Add to Cart.

  5. If you're done adding Office products to your cart, go your Shopping Cart and select Checkout.

  6. On the Billing Information page, enter your billing and payment information, and then select Confirm your order.

  7. On the Confirm Order page, select Complete purchase.

  8. Select the checkbox to accept the terms and conditions, and then select Next.

  9. A pop-up window appears so that you can send an email to your personal email address with a link to install Office at home later. Enter your personal email address and select Send. It's a good idea to save this email for future use.

  10. On the Thank you! page, you'll see the Office products you purchased, their product keys, and Install buttons for each product. If this is the computer where you plan to install Office, select Install 32-bit to install the 32-bit version of Office. Make note of your product key or send it to your personal email address, because you'll need to activate Office after installation.

Otherwise, go to the computer where you plan to install Office, open the email you sent to your personal email address in the previous step, locate the product key you noted or emailed yourself earlier, and then select the Install button in the email.
