How to access OneDrive settings

The OneDrive activity center helps you find lost or missing files, and resolve sync failures. (Any sync failures will show up in the activity center, with suggestions how to resolve the problem.) The activity center is also where you can see all recent uploads and downloads, and where the file was synced to. You can also tap More (three dots) at the side to see more options, such as Settings, Manage Storage, and Send Feedback.

Tips: 

  • If you have both OneDrive and OneDrive for Business set up on your computer, the activity center, settings, accounts, and pause menus are accessed in the same way, but note that a change in one does not affect the other.

  • A white cloud icon is for OneDrive, a blue cloud icon is for OneDrive for Business:

  • You might need to click the Show hidden icons arrow  The Show hidden icons button. next to the notification area to see the OneDrive icons. If the icon doesn't appear in the notification area, OneDrive might not be running. Click Start, type OneDrive in the search box, and then click OneDrive in the search results.

How do I open the OneDrive activity center?

Click or tap the white or blue OneDrive cloud icon in the notification area in the taskbar to open the activity center.

How can I access OneDrive settings?

Click or tap More (3 dots) for to access more options, then select Settings from the menu which appears.

How can I pause and/or resume sync on my OneDrive?

  1. Click or tap the white or blue OneDrive cloud icon in the notification area in the taskbar to open the activity center.

  2. Click or tap More (3 dots) to access more options, then select Pause syncing and select the time duration you want to pause syncing, or Resume syncing.

How can I quit OneDrive?

  1. Click or tap the white or blue OneDrive cloud icon in the notification area in the taskbar to open the activity center.

  2. Click or tap the More (3 dots) to access more options, then select Quit OneDrive.
