How to access OneDrive settings

The OneDrive and OneDrive for Business settings and pause menus have moved. Everything that you used to access via the OneDrive icon right-click menu has now moved to the OneDrive activity center.

Tips:

  • If you have both OneDrive and OneDrive for Business set up on your computer, the activity center, settings, accounts and pause menus are accessed in the same way, but note that a change in one does not affect the other.

  • A white cloud icon is for OneDrive, a blue cloud icon is for OneDrive for Business:

  • You might need to click the Show hidden icons arrow  The Show hidden icons button. next to the notification area to see the OneDrive icons. If the icon doesn't appear in the notification area, OneDrive might not be running. Click Start, type OneDrive in the search box, and then click OneDrive in the search results.

The app behavior has been changed to work better with touch devices, where right-click is not always an easy option. Right-click will still work, but left and right click (and tap) will now display the OneDrive activity center.

The OneDrive activity center helps you find lost or missing files, and resolve sync failures.

The activity center is where you can see all recent uploads and downloads and where the file was synced to. You can also tap the three dots at the side to see more options, such as Open, Share, or View online.

Any sync failures will also show up in the activity center, with suggestions how to resolve the problem.
