This tab sets the amount of space between two or more characters, and narrows or widens the characters themselves.
Scale
Makes selected characters narrower when you specify a percentage that is less than 100 percent, or wider when you specify a percentage greater than 100 percent. You can select from the list or enter a value from 1 percent to 600 percent.
Spacing
Determines how to apply space between selected characters. Normal is the default. Expanded spreads the letters apart by the number of points specified in the By box. Condensed moves the letters closer together by the number of points specified in the By box.
By
Sets the amount of space to expand or condense between selected characters. Enter a value in points from +1584 (expanded) to -1584 (condensed). A large negative number can cause letters to overlap. A point is a traditional measure used by typesetters and is equal to 1/72 of an inch.
