In Microsoft OneNote, you can cut, copy, delete, or move any selection of ink strokes.

iPad

  1. Open a page that contains handwritten notes or a drawing, or tap the Draw tab, select a pen, and then use your finger or stylus to write or draw on the page.

  2. On the Draw tab, tap Lasso Select, and then use your finger or stylus to draw a selection around the ink strokes you want to cut, copy, or delete.

Be sure to connect the end point of your selection to where you started.

  3. When the ink is selected (8 selection handles will appear around your selection), tap your finger inside the selection to display a menu of the following options:

    • Tap Cut to remove the selection at its current location. To paste the removed ink strokes elsewhere on the page:

      1. Tap Text Mode on the left of the Draw tab.

      2. Tap and hold your finger on the page where you want to paste the previously selected ink strokes.

      3. After you release, tap Paste on the menu that appears, and then drag the pasted ink selection with your finger exactly where you want it.

    • Tap Copy to keep the selection at its current location. To paste a copy of the selected ink strokes elsewhere on the page,

      1. Tap Text Mode on the left of the Draw tab.

      2. Tap and hold your finger on the page where you want to paste the previously selected ink strokes.

      3. After you release, tap Paste on the menu that appears, and then drag the pasted ink selection with your finger exactly where you want it.

    • Tap Delete to permanently remove the selection at its current location. If you change your mind, tap the Undo arrow near the top left corner of the app to restore the ink selection.

Note: You can also delete ink strokes using the eraser icon to the left of the pens on the Draw tab.

  4. If you want to move a selection of ink strokes, tap and hold inside the selection, and then move your finger or stylus to drag the selection elsewhere on the page.
