Create New Theme Fonts

In this dialog box, you select a pairing for the Heading and Body fonts for a template or theme.

  1. Choose a Heading font from the list.

  2. Choose a Body font.

  3. Type a Name for the font pairing you've selected.

    After you close the dialog box, the name of your custom font pairing will appear at the top of the Fonts list that you opened on the way to this dialog box.


  • Legibility is of paramount concern for presentation fonts.

  • Professional designers usually recommend a sans serif font for body type. Some instances of body type are fairly small, such as in table data or chart labels, and sans serif fonts are more legible in smaller sizes than serif fonts are.

  • Serif fonts are suitable for heading fonts.

  • Professional designers usually suggest that if you'll be sharing your presentation with others, don't be creative in your font selections. If a font you use isn't available on other peoples' computers when they view your presentation, a different font will be substituted for the missing one, causing text to be resized or misaligned.
