Clean up or remove duplicate contacts in Outlook.com

Outlook.com can help you find multiple entries for some of your contacts and clean up the list. Contacts are not deleted, just linked together. You can unlink them later if you wish.

How to use the Outlook.com contacts clean up tool

  1. Sign in to Outlook.com and select People by clicking https://outlook.live.com/owa/?path=/people.

  2. Select Manage > Clean up contacts

  3. Select two or more contacts to link and click Clean up then Yes to confirm.

Note: We recommend cleaning up in batches of fewer than 50 contacts at a time.
