Change the default duration type

In Microsoft Office Project, the default duration unit is days, but you can change it to be minutes, hours, weeks, or months:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Schedule tab.

  2. Under Scheduling options for, in the Duration is entered in list, click a duration unit.

  3. To use the same setting automatically in all future projects, click Set as Default.
