Moving tasks so that they finish on a nonworking day
You have moved the selected tasks so that they finish on a nonworking day. If you specify that a task ends on a nonworking day, Microsoft Project cannot schedule any work to be done on that task during that day. The tasks will actually finish on the previous available working day. In the Gantt Chart view, nonworking time is indicated by gray vertical bars by default.
Note: Go to Set the general working days and times for a project or Set a task start or finish date (constraint) for a task for additional information.
Using the Planning Wizard, you can:
Move the tasks to finish on the previous working day.
Project will move the tasks so that they finish on the previous available working day.
Allow the tasks to finish on the nonworking day.
Project will move the tasks so that they finish on the nonworking day. However, no work will be done on the tasks that day.
Make the day a working day.
Project will move the tasks to the specified day and change that day to a working day. The working hours for this day are from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. and 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. If your calendar uses different hours than these, you can change the hours for the new working day. Click on the Project tab and then click on Change Working Time.
If you choose to make the day a working day, be sure to check the resource calendars of any resources assigned to the tasks. If the day is not a working day for your resources, no work will be done on the tasks.
If you don't want the Planning Wizard to display this information again, select the Don't tell me about this again check box.
