Add text to an AutoShape or text box

You can add text to most AutoShapes, except lines, connectors, and freeforms.

  • Click any AutoShape — except a line, connector, or freeform — and then type the text.

Note: The text is attached to the AutoShape and is treated as part of the shape. If you don't want to attach the text to the shape, use the Text Box tool Button image on the Drawing toolbar.
