  2. On the canvas, select the circled + icon.

  7. Select your preferences for the frame (text background):

    • If you want a background behind your text, select Show text frame.

    • If you want the text frame to re-size itself, based on your text entry, select Resize frame height to fit text. If you want to manually set the height and width of the frame, regardless of the text, do not select it.

    • Within the frame, select your preferences for Frame corner radius, Frame background color, and Vertical alignment of text.

  8. If you want a podium to appear below the text, select Show podium. Using Heightfrom the podium slider, you can set the distance between the text and the podium.

  9. When you're done select Save as draft or, if you're ready to make your changes visible to everyone who has access to your space, select Publish.

Note: For guidance on sizing and placing web parts, see Add and use web parts in a SharePoint space.

Add actions to text

Optionally, you can make the text web part interactive by adding actions. For example, you can play a sound when someone selects the web part. Actions are set while you're editing the web part, and take effect after you save your space as a draft, or publish it.

  1. While editing, select the text web part, and then select the pencil icon. This opens the property panel. Scroll down to Actions.

  2. Select Add action.

  3. When you select the web part, the On triggeraction occurs.

  4. When you right click (mouse) or long presses (controller), More actions appears.

Note: To configure More actions, select Add action, and then select ... (ellipsis). To re-order the actions, drag them into the order you want.

  5. For the On trigger action or More actions, select from the following:

    • Inspect: Brings the web part closer.

    • Link to another space: Opens a linked SharePoint space.

    • Play audio: Plays an attached audio file.

    • Link to a page or item: Opens a linked item, such as a SharePoint page or a public website.

  6. To try out your actions, select Save as draft or Publish.
