Where are my email messages or events?

When you first set up Mail and Calendar for Windows 10, you might not see all of your email messages or calendar events. That's usually because the Mail app, by default, is set to only show you emails from a narrow window of time. You can change the date range for emails downloaded to your phone or tablet to see more messages.

For your calendar, the date range for events downloaded to the Calendar app is based on your account type and the device you're using. For more information, see Why can't I see older events or events far in the future? later in this topic.

Where are my email messages?

By default, when you first set up your account, Mail for Windows 10 downloads email messages from the past two weeks. All of your older messages are still available online, for example at http://outlook.com. If you want to change the number of emails downloaded to Mail for Windows 10, also known as your sync duration, use the following steps.

  1. Choose Settings settings button in Windows Mail > Manage Accounts, and select the account you want to change.

  2. Choose Change Mailbox sync settings.

Change your sync options for your account
  3. To see older messages, under Download email from, choose any time.

Why can't I see older events or events far in the future?

The date range of events displayed in your Calendar app view are determined by your account type and the device you're using. While older events or events far in the future are not displayed in the Calendar app, they haven't been deleted. You'll be able to view the events from the web or in another app. The following tables explain which events are shown in the Calendar app and which aren't based on your device and account type.
