What you can do in the Office apps on an Android, iOS, or Windows mobile device with an Office 365 subscription
All Office 365 plans allow you to view documents using the Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or OneNote apps for iOS, Android, or Windows mobile devices. However, the features and documents available to you depend whether or not you're using an Office 365 qualifying plan or non-qualifying plan, or if you have a one-time purchase of Office. Be sure to check that your device also meets the system requirements to use the apps.
Important: If you're using an iPad Pro or a Windows 10 device with a screen size larger than 10.1 inches, you must have a qualifying Office 365 plan to edit documents. Check your plan to see what you can do in the Office apps
If you have one of the qualifying plans below, you can:
- View documents

If you have one of the non-qualifying plans below, you don't have access to the app's extra features, but you can do the following:

*About non-qualifying plans
The non-qualifying plans listed above, do not come with a license for the Office desktop apps. With these plans you can only view and not edit any documents you saved to Office 365 services such as OneDrive for Business and SharePoint team sites. If you want to edit the Office documents you saved to these services, you must have a subscription to one of the qualifying Office 365 Business, Education, Nonprofit, or Government plans, and your Office 365 admin must have assigned you an Office license. This restriction also applies if you're using an iPad Pro or a Windows 10 device larger than 10.1 inches. You must have one of the qualifying plans to do any kind of editing on those devices.
If you do have a qualifying Office 365 Business, Education, Nonprofit, or Government plan, but find you still can't edit documents on an iOS, Android, or Windows device, check that your admin assigned the license to install the latest version of Office to your account. To use the Office apps, make sure that your device meets the system requirements for your particular Mobile device.
You can find help for a particular app from within the app, or select one of the links below to learn about deleting, sharing, saving, and syncing files, and using the app if you're offline.

Make sure you're using the correct Microsoft account, or work or school account
When signing to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or OneNote, use the Microsoft Account associated with your Office 365 subscription with or the work or school account you use with Office 365 for business.
Verify your user name and password is working
Use a browser to verify that you are signing in with the username and password that's associated with your Office 365 subscription. See Where to sign in to Office 365 for the correct sign in location for your particular subscription.
Verify you have a licence to Office (Office 365 for business subscribers only)
If you're using Office 365 for business, verify you have a license for the desktop version of Office. See What Office 365 product or license do I have?
Check your system requirements
Make sure your device meets the system requirements. You can also find up-to-date system requirements on the app pages for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or OneNote in the Apple Store or Google Play.
iPad users - reset your app
If you’re using an iPad and you see the errors: No subscription found or This Apple ID doesn’t have a paid Office 365 subscription, try resetting the apps.
Go to iPad Settings.
In Settings, tap to select one of your Office for iPad apps like Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.
Under RESET, tap Reset <app name>.
Slide to enable Delete Login Credentials.
Close the app. To close on your iPad, press the Home button twice, swipe to find your app, and then swipe the previews screen up.
Admins can also add an external link to the software installation package on the company portal by using the Microsoft Intune Software Publisher. This link lets users download the app directly from an online store, or run the app as a Web app from a website. The app is not hosted by Microsoft Intune.
