Is there a free version of Visio for the web?

Yes, you can use Visio for the web without a license to view basic Visio files. Sign in to your Microsoft 365 account, upload the Visio file to OneDrive, and then select the file there to open it. The file opens in your browser in Visio for the web, giving you the ability to see the file in read-only view.

With Visio Viewer, you can also open, view, and print Visio drawings created in the Visio desktop app. However, you cannot create, edit, or save a new Visio drawing with Visio Viewer. For more information, see Use Visio Viewer to view or print Visio drawings

Additionally, Visio for the web is included in all Microsoft 365 commercial plans, allowing subscribers to create, edit, and share general-purpose diagrams. You or your administrator can check which license you’re a part of by following the steps in What Microsoft 365 business product or license do I have?

Visio also has two paid subscription plans—Visio Plan 1 and Visio Plan 2. Both include the ability to view, create, and edit Visio files in a web browser. For more information, see Compare Visio options.

For a comparison of the key features Visio in Microsoft 365, Visio Plan 1, and Visio Plan 2, see Compare Visio versions and features. To see which version you are using, open Visio and go to File > Account or File > Help. For more details, read What version of Office am I using?
