Getting your team up and running on Microsoft Teams is easy.
To start, click Create a team, give your team a name, and add a short description if you like.
Add people individually or by distribution list, security group, or Office 365 group--saving you the trouble of adding one-by-one.
Your team will start with one channel called "General". Use it for whatever you like.
Clicking the three dots next to the team allows you to quickly perform lightweight tasks like adding channels or members to the team. For more in depth team management tools and admin settings click Team details.
Here you will see a list of all team members. This is where you add or remove members and manage team ownership. Owners have additional privileges like membership management and editing team settings.
From the channels tab you can see additional information about all the team’s channels. You can add, remove, or edit channels at any time.
Some teams create channels by topic, department, project, or just for fun. Every team is different so structure your team in the way that works best for you.
Click Add channel, give your channel a name, describe it if you want, and click Add.
From the Settings tab you can customize your team picture, edit member permissions, and turn certain features on or off.
So now you know how to get started. Now bring in the team and let the collaboration begin.
