Validation error in setting up Office Premium


When you try to set up Microsoft Office Premium, you receive an error that prevents you from completing the Office setup. This error only occurs in the Office setup that is associated with the following versions:

  • Office Personal Premium with Office 365 Services

  • Office Home and Business Premium with Office 365 Services

  • Office Professional with Office 365 Services

The error that occurs is between 2000-2999 and indicates a problem in using the Microsoft account credentials that you provided.


These errors occur if there is a problem with the Microsoft account credentials that you use to redeem the Office offer or if the product key that you provided is incorrect or not valid.


First, make sure that you entered the product key correctly.

You can also check whether there are errors on your Microsoft Office My Account page. To do this, go to your Microsoft Office account page, and check for errors when you try to sign in to your Microsoft account.

You can only have one Office subscription per Microsoft account. So, if a subscription is already associated with your Microsoft account that is not offered in Japan, you receive this error. For example, if Microsoft Office 365 Home is associated with the Microsoft account that you provided, you cannot redeem one of the Premium offers by using this account.

The account may be blocked or suspended, and the account must be active to allow the Office offer to be associated with the account.
