Use a screen reader to zoom in Mail for Windows 10

The way you access the Zoom option depends on context; that is, it depends on what you’re doing with your email message when you want to use the Zoom option.

Important: The procedures in this topic are documented using Narrator, a screen reader in Windows. To turn Narrator on or off, press the Windows key, and then press the Enter key. For information about how to work with other screen readers, contact your assistive technology (AT) manufacturer.

Access Zoom when editing a new email message

When you're editing a new email message, you can access the Zoom button.

  1. Press the Alt key to move to the ribbon, and use the Left Arrow key or Right Arrow key to move to the Options tab.

  2. Press the Down Arrow key to go to the lower ribbon. Narrator announces the first button on the ribbon, which is the High Importance flag.

  3. Press the Tab key five times to move to the Zoom button, and then press Enter to select Zoom.

  4. Use the Down Arrow key to move to the zoom level that you want, and then press Enter.

Access Zoom when editing a reply to a email message

From a reply to a message, zoom control is a menu item from the Actions button on the banner above the Reading pane.

  1. From the email message, press the Alt key to move to the banner above the Reading pane, and then press the Tab key to move to the Actions button.

  2. Press Enter to select Actions, and use the Down Arrow key to move through the menu options to Zoom.

  3. Press Enter to select Zoom, press the Down Arrow key to move to the zoom level that you want, and then press Enter.

Access Zoom when you're reading or browsing email messages

  1. Press the Alt key to go to the ribbon.

  2. Press the Tab key until you get to the Actions button, and then press Enter.

  3. Press the Tab key to move through the zoom options until you reach the desired zoom level, and then press Enter.
