Sign in to OneDrive for Business for Windows mobile devices

Access your Microsoft OneDrive accounts on your Windows mobile device with the same OneDrive app. Using the app to upload, share, and work with files in your OneDrive for work or school account is the same as it is working with your personal account. For more information, see What is OneDrive?

Select your device's version of Windows from one of the tabs below:

This applies to Windows 10 for XBox One, HoloLens, Surface Hub, or tablets.

Sign in

To add a personal account, enter your Microsoft account on the sign-in page. To add a OneDrive for work or school account, enter the email address you use for your company, school, or other organization.

Notes: 

  • If you have a problem signing in with your work or school account, try signing in at OneDrive.com or contact your IT department.

  • To change or reset your OneDrive password, sign in to your account online at account.microsoft.com/security.

You can have both a personal account and OneDrive for work or school accounts. To add an additional account:

  1. Open the OneDrive app and select Sign in.

  2. Select either Microsoft account (Email, phone, or Skype) or Work or school account (Assigned by your organization), then select Continue.

  3. On the sign-in screen, enter the email address and password you use for either your Microsoft account, or for your company, school, or other organization.

    When your organization uses SharePoint 2013, SharePoint Server 2016, or SharePoint Server 2019, the sign-in process is different from Microsoft 365. On the sign in screen, tap Have a SharePoint Server URL? Then enter the web address of your SharePoint server to continue the sign-in process. The web address, also known as a URL, may look like http://portal.

Notes: 

  • For you to sign in to OneDrive for work or school, your organization needs to have a qualifying SharePoint in Microsoft 365 or Microsoft 365 subscription plan, or your organization needs to have its own SharePoint Server deployment.

  • You cannot sign in with multiple work or school accounts from the same organization.

If you have a problem signing in with your OneDrive for work or school account, try using a web browser to sign in at https://portal.office.com/onedrive, or contact your IT department.

Switch between accounts

Your OneDrive app in Windows 10 lets you sign in to your OneDrive for home and your OneDrive for work or school accounts and then switch between the accounts you've added.

In the upper right, select My Accounts (represented by your profile picture), and then select the account you want to use.

Note: To add another account, select My Accounts, and then either Add Microsoft account or Add Work or school account.

Sign out of accounts

To sign out of a OneDrive for home account or a OneDrive for work or school account, select My Accounts and then beneath the account you want to sign out of, select Sign Out.

This applies to Windows 10 for phones.

Sign in

  2. Tap Account Settings.

  3. Tap Add Account.

  5. Tap the + icon, then on the sign-in screen, enter the email address and password you use for either your Microsoft account, or for your company, school, or other organization.

    When your organization uses SharePoint 2013, SharePoint Server 2016, or SharePoint Server 2019, the sign-in process is different from Microsoft 365. On the sign in screen, tap Have a SharePoint Server URL? Then enter the web address of your SharePoint server to continue the sign-in process. Tap Menu OneDrive Menu at the top of the screen, and then tap the account you want to use.

Note: To add another account, tap Account settings, and then Add account.

To sign out of a OneDrive for home account or a OneDrive for work or school account, open the app, tap Menu OneDrive Menu > Account Settings. Select the account you want to sign out of, then tap Sign Out.

Switch between accounts

If you have Windows Phone 8.1, you can switch between a OneDrive for home account and a OneDrive for work or school account, or between multiple OneDrive for work or school accounts.

To do this, open the app, tap Menu OneDrive Menu at the top of the screen, and then tap the account you want to use. Note that you can't use multiple personal accounts with the OneDrive app.

Add passcode

In the OneDrive app, tap Menu OneDrive Menu at the top of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Options. Tap PIN, then set the slider to ON, and tap add pin. Enter and confirm the 4-digit number you want to use as the PIN.

Sign out of accounts

To sign out of a OneDrive for home account or a OneDrive for work or school account, open the app, tap Menu OneDrive Menu > Settings > Accounts. Once you've selected the account, tap Sign Out.
