Updates for Live Meeting 2007 Service Release 9.2

This document lists updates that are included in Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2007 Service Release 9.2 Notes.

Live Meeting Manager

Issue: Joining a Meet Now meeting from Office Communicator requires attendees to perform several steps while they wait in the meeting lobby, entering information before the meeting client is started.

Resolution: With Live Meeting Service Release 9.2, an administrator can set meeting policy to bypass the Meeting Lobby by selecting the Fast Meet Now check box.

Issue: In Live Meeting Manager, when a user clicks Manage Recordings, a list of all recordings is displayed but the Show All option is not selected, which is confusing to users. A user may select the Show All option and run the report again but the same results are displayed.

Resolution: With Live Meeting Service Release 9.2, when a user clicks Manage Recordings the Show All option is selected and all recordings are displayed.

Issue: Content Expiration for Meet Now meetings is set for one minute regardless if an administrator changed the expiration time.

Resolution: In Live Meeting Service Release 9.2, when an administrator changes Content Expiration for Meet Now meetings, the change will be applied to the conference center.

Issue: Extended Registration, which requires attendees to enter a valid e-mail address and company name, could not be enforced by an administrator for all meetings resulting in a lack of detailed usage data.

Resolution: With Live Meeting Service Release 9.2, a new feature lets administrators enforce Extended Registration for all meetings.

Issue: In the Recording Detail reports, when a user views a recording, the report incorrectly shows it as if they viewed the recording twice.

Resolution: With Live Meeting Service Release 9.2, the reports were corrected to show an accurate count of recordings viewed.

Issue: When modifying roles and policies for all existing Easy Assist members, an error occurs and the settings are not applied.

Resolution: With Live Meeting Service Release 9.2, when an administrator makes changes for Easy Assist members the changes are now applied.

Live Meeting Registration

Issue: When scheduling a public event that does not require a participant passcode for the event, the e-mail invitation for the event shows the following, Enter participant passcode. The user may assume that they need a passcode when one is not required.

Resolution: With Live Meeting Service Release 9.2, e-mails will not show Enter participant passcode for events that do not require a participant passcode.

Issue: Live Registration Systems limits the number of meeting sessions to 24 per event.

Resolution: With Live Meeting Service Release 9.2, users can set up to 100 meetings per event.

Issue: When trying to create a test event page, error messages are received.

Resolution: With Live Meeting Service Release 9.2, all users will be able to successfully create a test event page for their events.

Joining a Meeting

Issue: When joining a Live Meeting in Internet Explorer 7 or higher by using the Windows-based client with certain registry settings, two Internet Explorer windows are displayed, one to sign in to Live Meeting Manager, and the other, to join the meeting. This causes confusion and the user does not know which one to use.

Resolution: In Live Meeting Service Release 9.2, if users are logged on Live Meeting Manager and try to join a meeting, they will not see additional Internet Explorer windows but instead will be redirected to the Live Meeting Manager home page. Users who are not logged on Live Meeting Manager and who try to join a meeting will receive a message to close the Internet Explorer window after which will only see the Join Meeting page.

Issue: When using a non-Microsoft Outlook as an e-mail client and sending invitations from the Web-based meeting client, the Accept, Decline, or Tentative options are not available.

Resolution: With Live Meeting Service, all e-mail invitations including invitations sent using e-mail clients other than Microsoft Outlook will contain the Accept, Decline, and Tentative options.

Issue: When installing the ActiveX control for uploading content to a meeting, a security warning appears that states that the publisher of the control cannot be verified. The ActiveX control is not installed and the user cannot upload any files other than those with PWP and LMP file name extensions.

Resolution: With Live Meeting Service Release 9.2, the security warning will not appear and the ActiveX control will successfully install. The user will be able to upload all supported files.

Issue: Users who are in a locked-down environment and can join only by using the Web-based meeting client, will still see a page asking to install the meeting client.

Resolution: With Live Meeting Service Release 9.2, if the user is in a locked-down environment, they will automatically join the meeting by using the Web-based meeting client, without being asked to install the meeting client.

Issue: When a user joins the audio conferencing bridge by using the Call Me feature and then later disconnects, it also disconnects everyone else from the audio call.

R esolution: With Live Meeting Service Release 9.2, when a user closes the Live Meeting console, Live Meeting service will wait for 45 minutes (current default) if no other attendees are present in the audio bridge, before issuing the audio bridge termination calls to Audio Conferencing Providers.

Recording a Meeting

Issue: When an administrator republishes a recording, the republishing status is not displayed.

Resolution: With Live Meeting Service Release 9.2, when an administrator republishes a recording the republishing status will be displayed.

Issue: Recordings viewed in the High Fidelity Format do not show the slide transitions that were made during the actual meeting.

Resolution: With Live Meeting Service Release 9.2, High Fidelity Format recordings now show all slide transitions.

Issue: Recordings made in the Basic Recording Format have poor audio quality.

Resolution: With Live Meeting Service Release 9.2, some quality issues were fixed.

Issue: In some recordings, the audio and application sharing screens during a sharing session were not synchronized.

Resolution: With Live Meeting Service Release 9.2, recordings of shared sessions will have audio and application sharing screens synchronized.

Issue: When a meeting has audio conferencing set up without a participant code, the presenter cannot join audio and record the meeting. This results in blank audio in the recording.

Resolution: With Live Meeting Service Release 9.2, when a presenter begins a recording on a meeting that has no participant code, they are prompted to enter the information before starting the recording which in turn ensures audio is recorded properly.

Issue: While recording is in progress using the Recording Control Panel, if the organizer or presenter clicks any link in Live Meeting Manager or outside the browser, a pop-up message appears with a choice to click Cancel. At this point, the recording is in a paused state and a pop-up message gives the wrong indication. The organizer or presenter assumes that clicking Cancel will continue the recording.

Resolution: With Live Meeting Service Release 9.2, the organizer and presenter will not see a pop-up message when recording is in a paused state and the recording option will indicate the paused state of the recording.

Publishing a Meeting

Issue: An administrator who tries to republish a recording by using the Recording Controls Format tool is not notified of the job status.

Resolution: With Live Meeting Service Release 9.2, the status of ongoing and completed republishing jobs is clearly visible.

Issue: The last flipped slide is not rendered in the playback of the recording.

Resolution: This has been fixed in Live Meeting Service Release 9.2.

Issue: A recording made of the meeting does not include slide transitions. The HFF recording should include the slide transitions.

Resolution: With Live Meeting Service Release 9.2, an HFF recording will show the slide transitions.

Issue: The quality of WMV files needs to be improved to provide high fidelity recordings that can be easily viewed.

Resolution: In Live Meeting Service Release 9.2, recordings were improved that will render a higher fidelity recording in the WMV format.
