Update your password in Outlook 2016 for Mac

When your password is changed or reset for your Exchange, IMAP, or POP email account, Outlook 2016 for Mac will prompt you for the new password the next time it attempts to connect to the server. You can also be proactive and update your account password in Outlook 2016 for Mac by doing the following

  1. On the Tools tab, click Accounts.

    On the Tools tab, click Accounts

  2. In the left pane, click the account you want to change the password for.

  3. In the right pane, enter a new password in the Password box.

    • For Exchange accounts, the Password box is under Authentication.

    • For IMAP or POP accounts, the Password box is under Server information.

    Tip: When you close the window, Outlook saves the password.
