How do I sign in to the Skype for Business (Lync) Windows Store app?

You need a sign-in address and password from an organization that uses Skype for Business (Lync) Server, or has a business subscription to Office 365. If you’re already using Skype for Business (Lync) on your desktop, then you have a Skype for Business (Lync) account.

How do I reset my password?

If you forgot your password, or it doesn’t work anymore, contact your workplace technical support—typically the person who set up your Skype for Business (Lync) account for you. Provide them with these links:

What’s the format of my sign-in address and user name?

Your sign-in address looks like this: user@domain.com.

You may be asked for both a user name and a sign-in address. The user name is what you use to sign in to your organization’s network, either user@domain.com or domain\username.

How do I update my device’s date and time?

  1. Go to a web site that shows Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

  2. Go to Setting > PC Settings > Time and Language.

  3. Note your UTC offset, and compare your device’s time to that shown on the website.

If you need to update your device’s time:

  1. Turn off Set time automatically and tap Change.

  2. Update the time and tap Change.

  3. Try signing in again.

Your organization may not be set up for this version of Skype for Business (Lync). Contact your workplace technical support—typically the person who set up your Skype for Business (Lync) account for you. Provide them with these links:

Skype for Business (Lync) keeps asking me to sign in after I’ve already signed in

When you first sign in to Skype for Business (Lync), you might be asked to enter your sign-in credentials up to three times as Skype for Business (Lync) tries to connect to your calendar and other online services.

Important    The credentials for your calendar and other services could be different from those for Skype for Business (Lync).

Even if the issue is resolved, notify your technical support team so they can help prevent this from happening again.

Skype for Business (Lync) doesn’t remember my sign-in credentials

To have Skype for Business (Lync) remember your user name and password, select the Remember my credentials check box when signing in. On a device with a touchscreen, the onscreen keyboard used to enter your user name and password might be covering the check box. If you don’t see the check box, scroll up in the dialog box.

Skype for Business (Lync) tries to sign in for longer than five minutes, but it never succeeds and never shows an error

Tap Cancel to stop the current sign in attempt, and then tap Sign in to start again.

If the same problem occurs again, tap Cancel, tap Delete my sign-in info, re-enter your credentials, and then sign in again.

I can’t sign in after I installed the update

If you’re not able to sign in after you install an update for Skype for Business (Lync) Windows Store app, select Delete my sign-in info on the sign-in page, then type your credentials and try signing in again.
