Set up an OLE object to run during a presentation

Use this procedure after you insert an Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) object, such as a Microsoft Office Excel worksheet, in your presentation by clicking the Insert Object command.

To set up an OLE object to run during a presentation, do the following:

  1. On the slide, select the icon or link to the OLE object that you want to open.

  2. On the Insert tab, in the Links group, click Action.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • To click the embedded icon or link in order to open the program, click the Mouse Click tab.

    • To move the mouse pointer over the embedded icon or link in order to open the program, click the Mouse Over tab.

  4. On either tab, click Object action, and then type the path to the program (.exe) file that you want to open, or click Browse to search for it.
