Rotate a shape 90 degrees

  1. Select a shape.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • To rotate the shape counterclockwise, on the Shape menu, point to Rotate or Flip, and then click Rotate Left.

    • To rotate the shape clockwise, on the Shape menu, point to Rotate or Flip, and then click Rotate Right.

Rotate a shape using the rotation handle

  1. Select a shape.

  2. Drag a rotation handle Rotation point on shape - green circle .

    The shape rotates around the pin Rotation pin image . To move the pin, position the pointer over the rotation handle, and then move the pointer over the pin and drag it to a new location.

    Note: You can also rotate shapes in a multiple selection. When you select the shapes, a single rotation handle appears for the entire selection. When you rotate the selection, all of the shapes rotate as a whole.

Rotate a shape by typing an angle

  1. Click a shape to select it.

  2. On the View menu, click Size & Position Window.

  3. Type a value for Angle.

Rotate a text block

  1. Click the Text Block tool Button image .

    Note: If the Text Block tool isn't visible, click the arrow next to the Text tool Text tool button , and then click the Text Block tool.

  2. Click the shape to select its text block.

    Note: If the text is in a group, click to select the group, and then click to select the text in the shape.

  3. Drag the rotation handle Rotation point on shape - green circle .

    When the pointer is over a rotation handle, it changes to an arrow that forms a circle Rotation tool pointer . As you drag, the pointer changes to four arrows that form a circle Rotation tool pointer during rotation image .
