Resize an object

Do any of the following:

Resize an object by entering measurements

  1. Click the object that you want to resize, and then depending on the type of object that you clicked, click the Format tab or the Format Picture tab.

  2. Under Size, enter the Height and Width.

  3. If you want to maintain the proportions as you resize the object, select the check box.

Resize an object by dragging a sizing handle

  1. Click the object that you want to resize.

  2. Drag a sizing handle until the object is the size that you want.

    Tips: 

    • To maintain an object's proportions while resizing it, hold down SHIFT , and then drag a corner sizing handle.

    • To keep the object's center in the same location, hold down OPTION while you drag the sizing handle.

    • To keep the object's center in the same location and maintain its proportions while resizing it, hold down SHIFT + OPTION while you drag the sizing handle.

Resize an object by a percentage

  1. Click the object that you want to resize.

  2. On the Format menu, click the menu command for the type of object that you selected, such as Shape or Picture.

  3. In the left pane, click Size.

  4. Under Scale, in the Height and Width boxes, type the percentages that you want.
