Remove students in Class Notebook for OneNote

When you remove a student from a Class Notebook, they will no longer have permission to view and edit the notebook's shared content. However, their work will remain in the notebook unless you choose to delete it while removing the student.

  1. Open OneNote desktop.

  2. Select the Class Notebook tab, and then Add/Remove Students. OneNote for Mac: Select the Class Notebook tab, then Manage Class Notebooks, then Add/Remove Students.

  3. The Class Notebook Wizard will automatically open in your web browser. Select the notebook you’re updating.

  4. Remove student(s) by selecting their name. Select Undo if you choose a student by mistake. If you'd like to delete a student's work while removing them from your class, select the Delete student's content checkbox.

  5. Select Next.

  6. Confirm the list of students with access to your Class Notebook. If you need to make changes, select the back arrow to return to the previous screen. 

    A list of students to be removed. One student will have their content deleted after they are removed. The other will not. Select Update.
  7. Select Update.
