Remove a header or footer from a worksheet

Text and images in headers print at the top of every page of your worksheet. Similarly, text and images in footers print at the bottom of every page. If you want to remove some of the information in your header or footer, here’s how:

  1. On the View tab, click Page Layout.

  2. Delete the information you want to remove.

Select text in the header

  1. Click anywhere in the worksheet, and then click View > Normal.

Remove all headers or footers at once

If you don’t want your workbook to have any headers or footers, you can remove them all at once.

  1. On the Page Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click the arrow.

Click the arrow to open the Page Setup box

  1. In the Page Setup box, on the Header/Footer tab, do one of the following:

  2. Under Header select (none).

  3. U nder Footer, select (none).

  4. Click anywhere in the worksheet, and then click View > Normal.
