Move users to another domain

  1. Sign in to Office 365 and go to the Office 365 admin center.

  2. Choose Users > Active Users from the left navigation pane.

  3. Select a user and click Edit next to their name. Select a different domain to change the email address for each user to one that isn't the one you're removing.

  4. Click Set as primary then Save. Repeat this process for any users associated with the domain you're trying to remove.

  5. You'll need to do this for yourself too if you're on the domain you're trying to remove. When you edit the domain for your user, you'll have to log out and log back in using the new domain you chose to continue.

    1. For example, if you are logged in as: dave@contoso.com

    2. Go to Users > Active Users, select yourself from the list and click Edit next to your own name.

    3. Select different domain: dave@contoso.onmicrosoft.com

    4. Click Set as primary

    5. Click Sign Out

    6. Sign in with new domain and your same password: dave@contoso.onmicrosoft.com
