Raise a number to a fraction to find the square or third root

Excel offers a SQRT function to find the square root of a number. But what if you need to figure out the third root or the fourth root of a number? In this article, you'll learn how to raise a number to a fraction to find a root. For example, to find the cube root of a number, you can raise the number to the 1/3 power.
