Opening your mailbox at the start of the day or after a long absence can be kind of overwhelming. All those new messages to sort through. People View is a way that Outlook Web App can help you get to the most important messages first. People View works in the background to determine who you correspond with the most, and shows you how many unread messages you have from those people. People View is available only in Outlook Web App.

Sign in to Outlook Web App. For help,
At the top of the page, choose Outlook (or Mail). Or, choose the app launcher > Mail.
When you open your mailbox, People View shows you if you have any unread messages from up to five of the people you send email to most.
To see only the messages in your Inbox from someone in your People View, select that person’s name. To leave People View, select any folder.
Select More to see up to five more people. To leave People View after viewing more people, select the arrow next to People.
The list of people refreshes automatically based on activity in your Inbox so that it’s always current. When you’ve read all of the messages from a person in the People View, that person will move lower in the list. You can go back to those messages by selecting that person again.
How do I show or hide the People View?
Tap or click People to expand or collapse the list.
What else do I need to know?
People View maintains a list of up to 200 people who you’ve sent email to, but will show only the 10 people you send the most email to.
People view will always show at least the top five people you communicate with, even if you have no unread messages from them.
People you frequently send messages to are ranked by frequency, and when one of them sends you a message that goes to your Inbox, that person will show up in the People View ordered by rank, not by the number of unread messages.
You can’t see everyone who might be in your People View list, nor is there an option to add or remove someone from the list. The feature is completely automated.
Only messages that arrive in the Inbox are included in the People View. If messages are moved to another folder by a rule, people who you frequently communicate with may not show up in the People View.
To mark all messages from a person as read, right click on their name in People View, and select Mark all as read.
