OneDrive system requirements

The OneDrive desktop sync app requires the following:

  • Operating system: 32- or 64-bit version of Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7, or Windows Vista with Service Pack 2 and the Platform Update for Windows Vista, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008 R2, or Windows Server 2008 with Service Pack 2 and the Platform Update for Windows Server 2008, or Mac OS X 10.9 or later.

  • Processor: 1.6 GHz or higher, or Intel-based Mac computer

  • Memory: 1 GB of RAM or higher

  • Resolution: 1024 × 576 minimum

  • Internet connection: High-speed Internet access is recommended.

The OneDrive mobile app requires one of the following:

  • A phone or tablet with Android 2.3 or later (Android 4.0 or later for Camera Backup and other features)

  • An iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 6.0 or later

  • A phone running Windows Phone 7.5 or later.

For the best experience on the OneDrive website, we recommend using the latest version of Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.

Notes: 

  • The OneDrive desktop sync app isn't supported on Windows XP or Linux.

  • OneDrive desktop sync app functionality is built into Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 and now supports connecting to OneDrive for Business to sync your work or school files. For more information, see Improve your OneDrive sync experience.
