On the iPad, when pasting a formula, the value is pasted instead

Last updated: October 2016

When copy/pasting a formula on the iPad, Excel is pasting just the values. The Excel Team now has a fix they are testing and preparing for hopefully the November monthly release.

Status: Workaround

In the meantime, we have a workaround that may get you up and running again right away. This issue is related to the iPad's "Speak Selection" setting. If you turn that off, the copy/paste problem will stop occurring. Once we release the fix for the issue, it will no longer matter whether Speak Selection is off or on.

To turn this setting off, go to System Settings > General > Accessibility > Speech > Speak Selection > (Off)
