Office 365 for business Quick Start

Depending on your subscription plan, some of the benefits of Office 365 for business could include:

  • The latest Office apps, like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • The ability to install on PCs, Macs, tablets, and phones.

  • 1 TB of OneDrive cloud storage.

  • Frequent updates and upgrades not available anywhere else.

Sign in and install Office

Not sure you can install Office? See, What Office 365 business product or license do I have?

  1. Go to Office.com/signin.

  2. Sign in with your work or school account.

  3. Select Install Office 2016.

Upload files to OneDrive for Business
  1. Sign in to Office.com/signin.

  2. Choose OneDrive in the Office Online app launcher.

  3. Choose Upload. Choose Files or Folders.

  4. Choose Files or Folders.

  2. Choose OneDrive in the Office Online app launcher.

  3. Choose New and choose the type of file you would like to create.

    Or choose a file you have already created.

  4. Edit and add new content. Office online saves automatically.

  1. Sign in to Office.com/signin.

  2. Choose OneDrive in the Office Online app launcher.

  3. Choose a file or folder.

  4. Choose Share link to send an email or Get link.

    Note: You can also share the file directly from the Word, Excel, and PowerPoint desktop apps.

Share online with OneDrive for Business

Collaborate

After you share a file from OneDrive for Business, you can work on that file together at the same time.

  • Open the file on your desktop, using Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.

    Note: You can also work on the file together in Office online.

  • In the Share pane, you will see information for each co-author and who is editing in real time.

  • If they’re also using Word Online or Word 2016 and have agreed to automatically share changes, you’ll see their work as it happens.

  • Colored flags will show you exactly where in the document each person is working.

  • You can instantly chat with the people who are working in the document by using Skype for Business.

Use Skype for Business

  • Start conversations with IM, voice, or video calls.

  • See when your contacts are available online, in a meeting, or presenting.

  • Set industrial-strength security for meetings.

  • Broadcast online to a large audience.

  • Use Skype for Business in other Office programs to chat, call, or join a meeting with a click.
