Office 2013 and Office for Mac 2011 are no longer available for installation with an Office 365 subscription

Thank you for using Office 365. Office 365 subscribers can no longer download or install Office 2013 on PC or Office 2011 for Mac from the Office 365 portal or My Account page. To ensure the security of your Office suite and to get all of the latest features, upgrade to Office 2016 for free as part of your Office 365 subscription. See Why you should upgrade to Office 2016 for more details.

One-time purchases of Office 2013, such as Office Home and Student 2013, Office Home and Business 2013, or volume license editions of Office Professional Plus 2013 remain in standard support until April 2018 and extended support until 2023.

However, customer support and troubleshooting ended on February 28, 2017 for the following Office 2013 products:

Office 365 for home versions:

  • Office 365 Home (2013)

  • Office 365 Personal (2013)

  • Office 365 University (2013)

Office 365 for business versions:

  • Office 365 ProPlus (2013)

  • Office 365 Small Business Premium (2013)

  • Office 365 Business (2013)

  • Project for Office 365 (2013)

  • Visio Pro for Office 365 (2013)

Note: For more information about the above business versions of Office 365, see Support for the 2013 versions of Office 365 ProPlus ends February 28, 2017.

If you currently have Office 2013 installed with your Office 365 subscription, you're still free to use it.

Still need Office 2013 because of incompatibility issues?

Call support If you uninstalled Office 2013 as part of your Office 365 subscription, but you need to reinstall it because of incompatibility issues, select the contact us icon in the "Additional resources" section below. If you use Office 365 in your organization, contact your admin who can file a support ticket on your behalf.

After October 10, 2017, Office for Mac 2011 will no longer receive bug fixes and security updates. The end of support and troubleshooting doesn't affect your ability to use Office for Mac 2011 if you already have it installed. However, we highly recommend you install Office 2016 for Mac to get the latest your Office 365 subscription offers.

After you've installed Office 2016 for Mac, you can choose to keep the 2011 version on your computer or you can uninstall Office for Mac 2011.

Note: If you've already uninstalled Office for Mac 2011, but would like to reinstall it, it's available for download on the content delivery network (CDN).
