We’re sorry you’re having trouble signing in to Lync. Here are answers to some common sign-in questions.
How do I sign in to the Lync app?
You need a sign-in address and password from an organization that uses Lync Server, or has a business subscription to Office 365. If you’re already using Lync on your desktop, then you have a Lync account.
How do I reset my password?
If you forgot your password, or it doesn’t work anymore, contact your workplace technical support—typically the person who set up your Lync account for you. Provide them with these links:
What’s the format of my sign-in address and user name?
Your sign-in address looks like this: email@example.com.
You may be asked for both a user name and a sign-in address. The user name is what you use to sign in to your organization’s network, either firstname.lastname@example.org or domain\username.

I’m trying to sign in to Lync 2010 server but I have the Lync 2013 app installed
If you’ve installed the Lync 2013 app on your mobile device but are trying to sign in to Lync Server 2010, uninstall the Lync 2013 app and install the Lync 2010 app. To install the Lync 2010 app, do the following:
From your iPhone, go to the App Store, and search for Microsoft Lync 2010 for iPhone.
Tap the Free button in the app, and then tap Install and enter your App Store Apple ID and password. As soon as the app is installed, it appears on your home screen.
How long do I stay signed in on Lync app for iPhone?
Once you’re signed in you’ll remain signed in while as long as there is connectivity. If connectivity is lost for 30 or more minutes, you’ll be signed out. If you have connectivity but haven’t used the application for 10 days, you’ll be signed out.
Can I install both Lync 2010 for iPhone and Lync 2013 for iPhone on the same device?
This is not recommended. If you install both apps, you’ll receive double alerts for incoming calls and IMs. If you’re on February 2013 Cumulative Update for Lync Server 2013 or later, and you’re able to sign in Lync 2013 for iPhone, you need to uninstall Lync 2010 for iPhone app.
