Unlike desktop databases, Access apps don’t let you save an offline copy of a design. If you lose your server connection while you are designing an Access app, you won’t be notified until you try to save your work – at which point you’ll get an error:
To save your work, click OK and leave Access open while you attempt to restore your connection. Once the connection is restored, save your changes.
Important: If you are unable to restore your connection without closing Access, you will lose design changes made since the last time you saved.
