Managing security permissions for viewing reports in Managment Reporter

Security administrators can grant the view, create, edit, and delete permissions to the report library and its objects: folders, reports, report versions, and external documents. In order to administer report library security, you must have Microsoft Office PerformancePoint 2007 Management Reporter administrative permissions.

To manage security permissions in the Report Library, do the following:

  1. In the navigation pane, click Report Library.

  2. Right-click a report library item, and then click Modify Security.

  3. If you want to see inherited permissions, select the Show inherited permissions check box.

For more information, see Show inherited permissions option.

  4. Click the report or document whose permissions you want to grant or modify.

  5. If you want to remove a permission for a user or group:

    1. Click the user or group to remove, and then click Remove.

Management Reporter displays a remove verification message.

    2. Click OK to remove the permission for a user or group.

  6. If you want to add a permission for a user or group:

    1. Click Add.

The Add Users and Groups dialog box displays a list of available users and groups.

Note: If a user or group does not appear in the Add Users and Groups dialog box, use Management Reporter security to add the user, and then return to viewing reports to add permissions.

    2. Click the user or group to add. To select more than one user or group, press CTRL, or drag the pointer over the list.

    3. Click OK.

  7. If you want to modify the View, Edit, Create, or Delete permissions, select or deselect those options for a user or group.

Note: There are certain default permissions that you cannot change, depending on the user's role. These options have a gray background color.
