Live Meeting Server discontinuation

On December 31, 2017, the existing Microsoft Office Live Meeting service will be discontinued, and we want to encourage users to move from Live Meeting to Skype for Business prior to this date, following the guidance outlined below.

Microsoft Office Live Meeting service discontinuation

Your organization may be using Office Live Meeting today, and affected by this action. We do have options in-place for you to transition to, past the end of 2017.

We’ve been working hard to get Skype for Business and Skype Meeting Broadcast ready with new conversation and meeting features, so we’re inviting you to begin your migration from Live Meeting to Skype for Business.  We encourage you to begin the move from Live Meeting to Skype for Business as quickly as possible, as you'll need to be done by the end of December, 2017. After that date, the service will be completely shut down.

If you are a meeting organizer

You should start scheduling your upcoming meetings in Office 365 and Skype for Business, but meetings you've already scheduled will continue to work as planned through our final shutdown date of December 21, 2017.

To help you with your transition, we've got a guide to this process available for you to download: Live Meeting to Skype Transition Guide

If you are an IT professional or admin

You play an important role in migrating your organization from Live Meeting to Skype successfully, and we've created a guide to help you with this. The guide has further information and a step-by-step process for planning this transition: Live Meeting to Skype Transition Guide

In addition, Microsoft's FastTrack Center provides useful resources and help for customers adopting Office 365.
